Alumni

We love to celebrate the success of our past students and have some very well known Alumni! As part of our Careers programme, we like to include John Spence alumni in our events and have recently had a dentist, and self employed beauty therapist, and an apprentice involved in our last Futures month.

If you would like to be part of our John Spence alumni, please contact our Career Lead, Kate Winder ([email protected])

Well known John Spence Alumni include:

Sam Fender

Sam won the ‘Rising Star’ award at the 2019 Brit Awards and is nominated for the ‘Best New Artist’ Brit Award for 2020.

Sean and Matthew Longstaff

Sean and Matthew Longstaff are both Premier League footballers currently playing for Newcastle United.

Makeen Baroudi

Makeen left John Spence in 2017 and is currently a Senior Prefect at RGS!  Having left Syria in 2015 to escape the civil war, he arrived at John Spence knowing very little English. Makeen is academically gifted and achieved incredible results which were, 6,9,A*,A*,A*,A*,A,B,B!

Makeen has currently applied to four universities to study medicine including Oxford.  He has already been accepted to study Chemistry at Kings College London, which is his backup if medicine doesn’t come to fruition.
