Wednesday 28th Marhc 2018 1.00pm – 3.00pm at John Spence Sports Hall
Bisi Badminton Festivals are the ideal introduction to badminton. Festival activities are intended to provide success for all and opportunity for differentiation. Hosting this Festival enables excellent opportunities for young people to meet and experience participating in fun activities. Mr Pilkington has been going around the schools teaching new skills to both the pupils and staff in the local five feeder schools. From the basic grip, through to movement skills and hitting, all aspects of Bisi Badminton have been covered. After the lessons had been delivered all pupils were invited as a class to compete in the festival at John Spence sports hall.
The Results
The hall was magically set out with 8 different activities: Hole in one, bouncing the shuttle, target practice, rapid retrieve, fancy footwork, lunge relay, throw catch and shuttle relay. The schools were split into 22 teams and the help of the schools Badminton Academy was much needed. It was their job to help officiate and score each event, feeding scores into an overall score sheet. All the results were added up and it was Preston Grange which scored a massive total of 1645 and took first place! Second place went to Whitehouse with 1429 and third was King Edwards with 1356
