QuadKids Schools is the preferred athletics format for the 2012 School Games, including level 1 inter (whole school), level 2 intra school events and schools games qualifies and level 3 county final and School Games. This easy to run athletics format encourages participation for all ages and abilities and has been widely used throughout the UK for many years.
Each group rotates through their four events (e.g. 75m sprint/standing long jump/ vortex/600m). There can also be an optional 8 x 50m relay. Depending on the number of groups we can add other events in such as 1 min rowing and 10mx10m shuttle run.
The results are collated and sent our School Games Organiser who will then see if any other athletes have qualified for the next Level 2 round with North Tyneside.
Good luck to all competitors!
The Results
The weather was kind to us for our first ever Year 5/6 QuadKids event. With some schools away on residential it was down to Christ Church and Whitehouse to test their skills and wits against 6 different events. Rotating every 10mins the groups successfully took part in the different running, throwing and jumping events. The events were successfully overlooked by the John Spence Leadership Academy and teachers were responsible for collating pupil’s scores. All scores were entered into excel score sheets so that North Tyneside SGOs could collate all results from the primary schools and select representatives for the area!
Score sheets can be found below!
