In January of year 9 students start on a 6 week programme to help them choose appropriate options to study in year 10 and 11. DfE Option Guidance
You and your child are currently considering, what GCSE subjects they should take next year. The Department for Education recommends students study the core subjects (English, Maths and Science), alongside History or Geography and Spanish. These make up the English Baccalaureate (EBacc), and help keep options for young people open when they leave school; for more information please see the booklet below.
