Headteacher Update

November 2022

So, we were joined by Ralph, our new school dog, on Monday who caused as much excitement for the staff as he did for the students. Unfortunately, the member of staff who Ralph lives with has been absent this week with Covid, meaning Ralph has had the rest of the week off as well! We look forward to welcoming him back next week and gradually integrating him with students in the coming weeks.

Our uniform suppliers are moving premises soon, please follow this link for further details and please remember that if you order on line, delivery is free if it is sent to the school rather than to your home address. Also, we still do have uniform stock and vouchers to support families who are struggling to meet the cost of uniform, please do not be afraid or embarrassed to ask.

Finally, just a couple of reminders that if students are referred to the Behaviour Centre any time before period 5, then they will be required to stay in school until 3.20 (parents/carers receive a message to this effect when the student arrives at the centre). Secondly, if referred to the Behaviour Centre, the student must make their way independently within 5 minutes, otherwise this could lead to a further sanction. We obviously want to avoid this and do make adjustments for SEN students where appropriate, but this is the policy and we will be reminding students next week that this is the case.

On a more positive note, some lovely stories of our students helping in the community again, in particular a dog rescue where the member of the public was so grateful he turned up to school with boxes of chocolates for the two students that helped him.

I hope you all have a good weekend

Best wishes

Jonathan
