Headteacher Update

November 2022

Another different type of update this week as I would like to introduce you to Dog…Dog has yet to be named, but will be introduced to students next week for their ideas of what he should be called. Dog will live with a member of staff, but will be in school every day to support our work with students. More and more schools have chosen to get a school dog due to the amazingly positive impact that they can have on student welfare in school. We have used their experiences and expertise to ensure that the breed, training as well as the inevitable risk assessments are all correct so that Dog can have a real impact on the children in school. For the first 2-3 weeks, he will be based in the reception office, whilst he adjusts and gets used to his new environment, after which he will spend his days working with students and mentors.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Best wishes

Jonathan
