Leadership Scale 7-10 £49,019 – £52,723

Required for 1st September 2021

This is an exciting opportunity to join the well-established, and highly successful, North East Partnership SCITT (NEP SCITT). We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and committed person as SCITT Director. Based within John Spence Community High School, we are the largest provider of Secondary Physical Education ITT and the only provider of Primary with a PE specialism ITT in the North East of England. We have consistently been identified as one of the top ten providers of postgraduate teacher training in the country in the Good Teacher Training Guide and identified as the best provider in the country in 2015. We have been consistently rated outstanding by Ofsted, most recently in 2013, when it noted ‘the strengths of this long-standing cohesive partnership are considerable and focus on a clear vision of outstanding partnership working, high expectations and raising achievement.’

Leading a highly effective team, this is an exciting opportunity to join a strong and innovative ITT provider, whose vision is to ‘create the next generation of outstanding teachers who can inspire and motivate young people to foster a love of learning and use physical education and sport to help achieve their full potential – in sport and in life.’  To maintain this vision, you will need to secure and develop highly effective partnerships, as well as leading on innovative ITT curriculum design and implementation.

The NEP SCITT currently consists of a Secondary PE programme and a Primary programme, with a PE specialism. Both programmes deliver a PGCE alongside professional training for QTS.

The SCITT Director will be responsible for the strategic leadership of both programmes, ensuring strong professional, academic and employment outcomes for all trainees.

‘Making reference to the ITT Core Content Framework and the ITT Ofsted Framework, what do you consider to be the key features of a strong ITT curriculum?  Please provide examples to back up the points that you make’.

Please send your completed application form and statement answer by email to the Headteacher’s PA [email protected] and by post to the school office no later than Thursday 13th May 2021 by 10am.
