Headteacher Update – Covid Vaccinations

September 2021

We are yet to receive information from the School Immunisation Service around the dates of the Covid vaccination programme for students attending John Spence. You may be aware that vaccinations are already taking place in other schools locally, so I wanted to let you know the current picture here. I have obtained the covid vaccination consent form and have attached it here and we will also send a paper copy home with students tomorrow. Please sign and return these forms if you do consent for your child to have the covid vaccine. Students should hand their forms in to their form tutor. Information about the vaccine can be found by following the link that is on the consent form.  I have received confirmation that any student without consent will not be asked for their consent in school by the immunisation team.

Vaccinations are for 12-15 year olds only, meaning that any child who is either 11 or 16 on the date of the vaccinations will not have access to the vaccine.  We will not be sending out consent forms for those children who already fall into these categories but it may the case if your child has a birthday in the next couple of weeks that they may fall in or out of this age bracket.

The immunisation team will be combining delivery of the Covid vaccine programme with the flu vaccination programme. If you consent for your child to have the flue vaccination you need to do so using the following link:

https://links.inhealthcare.co.uk/ntcfluimmunisation2021 . In order to register you will need to use the following code – NTC7693

Hopefully, we will have some information regarding dates in the next day or so.

As ever, I will keep you updated as soon as I know any more.

Best wishes
