Headteacher Update

September 2020

We have reached the end of our first week back in school and whilst it has been different and at times hard, overall there is a sense of achievement that we are now all back in school. It was a great feeling to welcome the students back and they have all been absolutely brilliant – the way in which they have adapted to the new routines and rules has been nothing short of remarkable; they have shown great patience as well as being considerate to one another and the staff.

A few reminders…

  • The majority of students are remembering to bring face coverings to school and have them on prior to entering the site, but please do check that they pack them the night before as some seem to be a little forgetful!
  • If you are dropping your child off by car then please do so away from the school gates, perhaps in Morrison’s or Tynemouth Pool as we are trying to avoid congestion and the potential for an accident. This is also recommended guidance from the government regrading Coronavirus safety measures.
  • I would like to apologise for the confusion and difficulties surrounding the introduction of the new cashless catering system. This is completely out of our control and has been equally frustrating for us. Hopefully all the issues will be resolved over the next week, but we will continue to ensure all students can access food every day regardless.
  • Office opening hours are 8am to 4.30pm every day.

I hope that you all have a restful weekend.
