North Shields Hockey Club

North Shields Hockey Club is an inclusive club based at John Spence Community High School. We provide opportunities and support to anybody who wishes to participate in the game of field hockey on a friendly or competitive basis. Or just be part of a great club.

Our objectives are to:

  • Improve the health and well being of it's members and the local community by promoting and encouraging the take-up of adult and junior hockey and actively encouraging increased membership from junior, female, disabled and ethnic participants;
  • Provide resources and facilities for the playing, coaching and development of hockey and the attendant social activities associated with the sport and to build links with local schools, the voluntary and statutory sector and other organisations which can help develop the sport of hockey.

Newcomers to the sport are particularly welcome. Our membership fees aim to make the game affordable.

We provide regular training on a Tuesday night during school term and enter 3 men’s/boys teams and 1 Ladies team in the North East Hockey League. In addition to entering a number of junior development leagues and even a Veterans league.

If you are aged 11 and upwards and wish to play we would be delighted to hear from you! To contact us please email the Club Secretary or pop by the school on most Tuesdays during the school term at 17:30 or Saturdays 13:00, when we are normally playing.

Meanwhile look out for our reports in the local press or keep checking our website www.northshieldshc.co.uk
