Students at John Spence Community High School achieved some very good results in their examinations this year.
Year 11 students at John Spence have a lot to celebrate this year. Our latest set of examination results are an improvement on last year’s excellent results, with 75% of students gaining 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C and 69% gaining 5 or more at A*-C including English and maths.
73% of our students passed GCSE maths at C or above, whilst a fantastic 81% passed in English. Just over 90% of students gained a C or above in science; these brilliant science results coming not long after the school became only the fourth high school in the country to achieve the National Science Mark Gold Award for outstanding teaching in that subject area.
As ever, there were lots of examples of excellent individual achievement amongst our students, with 21 of them gaining 5 or more A*-A grades. Libby Moffatt gained 6 A*s, 2 A grades and a B, whilst Kate Taylor’s achieved 5 A*s and 4 A grades and Chloe Thompson achieved 5 A*s, 3 A grades and a B.
